In what ways is Jacob's faith evident as he blesses Ephraim and Manasseh (48:8-20)?
- He acknowledges God's guidance and providence.
- He recognizes that God will continue to fulfill his promise through his offspring.
- He put Ephraim before Manasseh just as God put Jacob before Esau.
In 49:3-7 how are the blessings given to Reuben, Simeon and Levi related to their past actions (see Gen 34; 35:22)?
- They murdered many men from revenge and in their anger.
- And so, it appears that that will be their future as well.
